Today saw published an article in House and Garden magazine about digitally printed wallpaper / products. It went over the point that design and colour is now being produced with out the need for engraving.  Typically a rotary screen engraver would have engraved the screens for patterns in the magazine and then then they could be coloured. Not the ones in today’s magazine.  They had never seen the inside shop of a ROTARY SCREEEN ENGRAVER ’s facility, only the sophisticated structure of the modern studio’s popping up all over the UK.

In these studio’s digital technology is moving at a rapid  pace.  Using extreme RIPS for printing wallpaper and fabrics and computing technology only once dreamed of, the digital face of home furnishings is most definitely changing.

Is this the end of the rotary screen engraver?  I think not.

Whilst digital printing is cost effective on small runs, it is very expensive on larger print runs.  It is more cost effective to have a rotary screen engraver engrave the screens and print via the conventional method.

The trends for BESPOKE WALLPAPER are changing all the time.  We are more and more being asked to produce wall murals that people are classing as bespoke wallpaper / custom wallpaper.
More so the colourways on wallpaper s are changing too.  Long gone are the days when when beiges and neutrals where the colour to have.  Oh No!!!!  Our Digitally printed wallpaper is now vibrant and full of colour.  Our customers are requesting colours that were only ever dreamed about in the top end of the wallpaper market.

For wallpaper in general, I believe the future  is very rosy for every one involved as more and more people request samples and our hit rates from the website translate into conversions.

Why not try our exciting new concept of wallpaper and canvas prints.  Here we sit the canvas print or photo to canvas over the wallpaper to fit the pattern, but twist the colours.  We have also applied for this as a TM for Concept Coverings Ltd.
